The Church
Emmanuel Baptist Church
was established in 1965, and has served the Southside
Community since that time. The church is a member of the
Independence Baptist
Association
.
The church has active programs for all age groups. A very inspiring music
ministry, including piano, organ, and stringed instruments, combined with insprirational
preaching come together to make an enjoyable time of worship. Emmanuel takes pride
in being friendly and is very blessed to have visitors.

 
 
Statement of Beliefs
-Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ
-The divine inspiration of the Bible from God to man
-The virgin birth of Jesus Christ
-Eternal security of the born again believer in Jesus Christ
-One baptism, after the new birth, by immersion
-The two ordinances of the local Church: Baptism & Communion
-The autonomy of the local Church
-The Holy Trinity: God the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit

The Emmanuel Baptist Church agrees with and practices the Baptist Faith & Message
of the
Southern Baptist Convention.

Sunday Moring Worship - 11:00 am
Sunday Evening Fellowship - 6:00 pm

Wednesday Choir Practice - 6:30 pm
Wednesday Bible Study - 7:00 pm
 
 
Our Pastor
Brother Jerry Hagar has been in the ministry for over thirty years. He has pastored
churches in Arkansas, Texas, and Alabama, as well as serving as a Texas State
Missionary. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Louisiana Baptist
University in Shreveport, LA. He also attended The Missionary Baptist Seminary in
Little Rock, AR. He has extensive experience and training in the Crimnal Justice
field and holds a senior level certification from the State of Arkansas. His wife is
Linda (Anderson) Hagar, he has two married sons and four grandsons. He came to
Emmanuel Baptist Church as Pastor in March of 2003.
